This is a small, eco lodge in a lush rain forest valley in unspoiled eastern Dominica, surrounded by pristine rivers. It has a backdrop of rain forest mountain offering secluded / rustic jungle cabins and tree houses, camping plots and dormitory beds and hammocks for the budget traveler.
There are tents available for rent. The lodge also has a restaurant (strictly by reservation), bar, and 4 natural river pools. It is ideally located for hiking and wildlife watching.
*** Since the passing of Hurricane Maria, we are without our main access bridges, so accessing our property does involve wading through two rivers that are under most circumstances no more than knee high. There are ropes to help one cross, and also we are more than happy to give assistance and/or carry your bags for you. We cross these rivers daily and find it to be another part of the adventure here and anyone with a moderate degree of fitness should have no problem at all.

Rosalie Forest is situated a mile or so inland from Rosalie, on the east coast of Dominica.
Whether you arrive at one of the airports, or at the ferry terminal, there are normally plenty of taxis waiting. Whichever port of entry, the journey time is around an hour, and expect to pay betweenEC$150 -200/ US$60-80 for your taxi, depending on your port of entry. Alternatively, if you arrive early enough, there are buses and hitchiking works well enough
From Melville Hall airport, follow the airport exit signs past the car park to the main exit barrier.
Turn right over the bridge as you leave the airport barrier and follow the road through and past the town of Marigot and stay on the main road until the main road crosses a bridge, bends right only, and leaves the coast.
You will pass immediately on your right a hotel called Silks, and you should turn left, over another bridge, towards the Carib Indian territory. DO NOT head straight on up the mountain.
Stay on this long windy road for about half an hour, passing through several Carib Indian villages, until, when you reach the town of Castle Bruce, the road ends.
You will see a playing field in front of you, and a health centre on your left.
Turn right, away from the ocean.
Then immediatley turn right again at the first turning, where you will see an old closed down gas station.
Carry on up the long windy mountain road, passing the school, for about 20 minutes, then passing the Emerald pool until the road ends.
At the end of the road turn left.
From Roseau head north out of the city over the independence street bridge and follow the main road north, direction Canefield, Mahault, Salisbury and portsmouth.
Follow the road heading out of town, passing the vcargo port and driving under a big cliff alongside nthe Ocean as far as Canefield, go past the Nissan showroom on the right, and past R&C tyre repairs on the left, then turn right at the National Commercial Bank, then left at the end of the very short road and go over the mountains until you reach Pont Cass. Turn right.
From Canefield airport, turn right onto the main highway, then left at the mini roundabout. At the top, turn left and follow the road up the mountain until you reach Pont Cass roundabout. Turn right.
From Pond Cass roundabout follow the road straight down, direction Emerald pool, Castle Bruce and Rosalie, for about 20 minutes, passing 2 bars on the left hand side, and driving straight past the turning on the left signposted to The Emerald pool and Carib territory.
Do not turn left, go straight.
Carry on straight down the windy road for about 10 minutes, eventually you will go down a very steep bendy hill, with a broken road / dangerous bend warning sign, and at the bottom of the hill on the bend you will see a sign on the right saying Rosalie Forest 3 Rivers Eco Lodge , and a 2nd broken road warning sign.
Turn tight down the dirt road.
Then, follow the road for just over 1km or 3/4 of a mile, drive straight through and across a small stream, carry on straight, and then follow the road left past the big, white house farm house.
Then drive straight across a big bridge, then carry on straight, past two small wooden houses on the left, with a 'dead end ' road sign.
Do not take the turning , carry on straight.
Then you will reach a second bridge which you should cross.
Follow our sign and carry on straight past our neighbours (mermaids secret) wooden house with two shipping containers.
A short way up the road you will see our reception and you can park on the left of the road.
If you want to use public bus, from Roseau, The bus for our lodge is in Kennedy Avenue, outside Jays bookstore and The bamboo bar, and take the bus which goes to Grand Fond.
