Situated in the south the S-Bahn train is located just a few steps away, taking you directly into the heart of Berlin in a short 15 min.

Of course we provide the service to safe-keep your luggage in case of an early arrival or late departure.
We are not staffed 24/7. Arrivals at any time are not a problem, please just tell us as specifically as possible when you plan to come. After check in you have 24 hours access.

- with S3, S5, S7, S75 in direction Friedrichstr, change S-Friedrichstr. in S25 direction Lichterfelde Süd / Teltow, get off S-Osdorfer Str.
The Youth hostel is in the south of Berlin, in Lichterfelde. The Railway station (S Osdorfer Street) is very near the hostel. You can reach the Potsdamer Platz/government district the heart of Berlin in 10 min and Potsdam in 30 min.
Emergency Timetable for S-Bahn in Berlin
Due to necessary engine-maintenance, S-Bahn services work under an emergency timetable at least until the end of September 2009. Most train-services only offer 3 trains an hour instead of 6 during daytime, the lines have been shortened, and the actual trains consist of 6 coaches instead of 8.
Please be prepared for longer journeys than expected. Bus, tram-lines, and U-Bahn are not affected, and fortunately there are alternatives to arrive at our Youth-Hostel as well as to explore Berlin from here.
Journeys to and from Schönefeld Airport are double affected: by the emergency-schedule plus engineering work. There is a bus-replacement, but you may be better advised to use the bus-service to Main-Station "Südkreuz" and from there take the S-Bahn S25 in the direction of Teltow as far as Osdorfer Strasse instead.
Please do not hesitate to ask the receptionists for help, for instance what service will be available by the time of your arrival, or to find out which service to take not to miss your flight / train-service out of Berlin.
Notfahrplan der S-Bahn in Berlin
Wegen notwendiger Zugreparaturen arbeitet die Berliner S-Bahn mindestens bis Ende September 2009 mit einem Notfahrplan. Die meisten Strecken bieten demnach nur 3 statt bisher 6 Züge in der Stunde, einige Linien wurden verkürzt und die Züge fahren mit 6 statt 8 Waggons.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass dadurch Fahrten durch Berlin länger dauern werden. Busse, Strassenbahnen und die U-Bahn sind nicht betroffen, und sie bieten Alternativen, das Gästehaus zu erreichen und von hier aus die Stadt zu erkunden.
Fahrten von und nach Flughafen Schönefeld sind doppelt betroffen, da neben dem Notfahrplan hier auch Streckenarbeiten ausgeführt werden. Es gibt einen Schienenersatzverkehr, aber Sie sind eventuell besser beraten, den Flughafenbus zum Bahnhof Südkreuz zu nutzen, und von dort mit S25 Richtung Teltow bis zur Station Osdorfer Strasse zu fahren.
Bitte zögern Sie nicht, unsere Rezeption um Hilfe zu bitten, Streckenführungen herauszusuchen, um unser Gästehaus zu erreichen, und vor allem, um rechtzeitig auf dem Flughafen oder Bahnstation zu sein, um Ihre Rück- oder Weiterreise nicht zu verpassen.
El horario de la emergencia del S-Bahn en Berlín
El S-Bahn en Berlín tiene un horario de la emergencia al menos hasta el fin del septiembre 2009, por las reparaciones obligadas de los trenes. Por eso pasan solamente 3 en lugar de 6 trenes cada hora en las que más rutas, algunas rutas están abreviado y los trenes tienen 6 en lugar de 8 vagones.
Por favor atiendan al alargamiento para pasar por Berlín. Los autobuses, los tranvias y el U-Bahn no están afectados y son las alternativas para llegar al hotel o para visitar la ciudad.
Doblemente afectado están los viajes de y al aeropuerto Schönefeld, por el horario de la emergencia y los trabajos en el camino. En sustitución pasa un bús al lado de los trabajos, pero mejor van en el bús del aeropuerto hasta la parada Südkreuz", allá siguen en el tren S25 (dirección Teltow") hasta la estación Osdorfer Straße".
