Friend Street Hostel, aptly named because of it location, services the much-needed budget travel market in downtown Boston by offering safe, clean and centrally located accommodations with budget minded amenities. It also offers a lot of fun!
By opening in a great location, Friend Street Hostel attracts 18-30 year old travelers who wish to visit the great city of Boston but can only do so on a budget. Locally owned and operated, Friend Street offers an exciting and hospitable budget travel experience.
Friend Street Hostel provides free breakfast, free wi-fi, tour sales, bike rentals, free maps & travel info, luggage storage, towels for rent or purchase, travel items for purchase, guest kitchen, 24-hour reception, free linen, a guest kitchen and laundry facilities to all guests. Travelers can meet, mingle, discuss future travel plans in our common room, outfitted with a 42" HD flat-screen TV with hundreds of satellite channels to choose from.
Italian Tuesdays, Nights on the town, Games Night, and pub crawls are just a few fun events Friend Street Hostel offers to all its guests. Travelers are sure to make a new friend at the Friend Street Hostel!
Friend Street Hostel has a few types of rooms available for the budget traveler. We offer a choice of 10 bed or 6 bed dorm style rooms, shared bathroom is in the hallway. Friend Street Hostel offers a choice of mixed, all female, or all male rooms as well. However, the 6 bed dorm rooms are strictly mixed.
All dorm rooms have safe lockers directly below your bed, and tall windows with great views. New pillows, new blankets and linen is included in all rooms, free of charge.
Our private room is offered with a double bed, desk, satellite TV and a closet with a shared bathroom.
A lounge with a big screen TV in a relaxing common room, a guest kitchen, laundry facilities, towels for rent or purchase, and 24-hour reception can all be enjoyed by our guests.
Centrally located in the heart of Downtown Boston and in the heart of New England Friend Street Hostel sits directly beside TD Garden (a very popular sports venue). We are just steps away from North Station, and minutes away from The North End (also known as "Little Italy"), Fanieul Hall, Boston Common, The Freedom Trail, Government Center, Cambridge, The New England Aquarium, Chinatown, Boston Harbor, The Charles River and many other tourist attractions! We are also just a short ride on the underground from Fenway Park, Harvard & MIT, Prudential Center, Boston Public Library, South Station and Logan Airport.

Directions

Take the Orange or Green Line subway inbound to North Station (correct exit will be at the end of the train). When you exit the T at North Station you will be on Canal Street. Walk straight ahead on Valenti Way and take your first right on Friend Street. Our address is: 234 Friend Street.
From North Station (Commuter Rail & Amtrak):
Take a right out of North Station and a right on Causeway Street. You will walk one block then then take a left on Friend Street. Our address is: 234 Friend Street.
From the Airport:
Take the Blue line inbound to State Street and change to the Orange line to North Station(correct exit will be at the end of the train). When you exit North Station you will be on Canal Street. Walk straight ahead on Valenti Way and take your first right on Friend Street. Our address is: 234 Friend Street.
From South Station:
Take the Red line inbound to Downtown Crossing, change to the Orange line to
